I was undecided whether or not to write an article that talked about the situation we are experiencing. My blog is about writing, so viruses, emergencies and politics are not covered topics. Then I said to myself that, ultimately, this situation and this emergency are undermining my writing work – what I have to write for my clients, my fiction and my blog – and therefore I'm not off topic after all. Indeed, unfortunately, I am involved in the coronavirus topic, and my writing is involved. Writing work decreases It was inevitable. Requests for quotes have decreased (in fact, I would say, almost zero) and some customers have suspended collaboration , because if they no longer sell, they certainly cannot spend as much as before.
On the one hand I think it's a mistake to stop: if you close the blog today, you will suffer tomorrow. On the other hand, I also think it's understandable: running a blog is an investment, but if you no longer have income, you need that money to live on. Day by day I carry on the few remaining jobs, also taking Special Data care of my service pages and my blogs. I took the opportunity to do a restyling of the Poe site, which I had been putting off for some time. Sooner or later it will end, I tell myself. The writing of the novel slows down The desire to write is missing in these times of uncertainty. When everything stops, what's the point of continuing with your projects? I imagine the various writers who are completing their books wondering whether or not they will have to send the manuscripts to a publisher : in many publishing houses there is no one left, they work from home, but I don't think they have their minds set on accepting and viewing new manuscripts .
On the other hand – there is always another point of view to consider – once the book is finished, you cross that project off and move on to the next. When everything returns to normal - because it will return to normal, sooner or later - we will think about sending our works. It is on this thought that I will start writing again . The blog goes on for better or worse But the idea of closing and reopening at the end of the emergency popped into my head. And I certainly would have regretted it. For now I'm writing week by week , finishing the article even the day before publication. The desire to look for ideas and have an editorial calendar full of topics to write has gone away . Also in this case we must take into account the post-emergency : work even against the will to not lose readers and visits, to be ready later, when everything has returned to the normal rules of life.
